White Fang

by Jack London

White Fang, a wolf-dog hybrid born in the wilds of the freezing cold Yukon, is the only survivor of his litter and much of the book is written from his perspective.  He soon learns the harsh laws of nature, yet buried deep inside him are the distant memories of affection and love.

The story begins before he is born, when two men and their sled dog team journey to deliver a coffin to a remote town named Fort McGurry in Yukon Territory, Canada.

The book explores complex themes including violence, morality and redemption.
